I recently read a fascinating blog post from HBR that included some real-world insights about the way mankind actually uses GenAI:

These are the main themes presented in the post:

• Technical Assistance & Troubleshooting (23%)
• Content Creation & Editing (22%)
• Personal & Professional Support (17%)
• Learning & Education (15%)
• Creativity & Recreation (13%)
• Research, Analysis & Decision Making (10%)

The theme "Personal & Professional Support", with 17%, pulled my attention from this list. I am mainly referring to that "Personal" part. The rest were pretty much expected.

Even more surprising was that theme's most common subcategory: "Therapy/companionship".

WOW. I didn't see that coming. We definitely need to dive deep and reflect on these points some more. Yes, as a mankind.
